Wadi Degla's 1st Team - Kings of the League

Wadi Degla vs. Almaza

In the 20th week of the Egyptian 3rd division league, Wadi Degla’s 1st team prevailed 4-2 in a game against Almaza. Scoring the goals were Ramy El Maleh in the 5th minute, Abo Bakr Zakareya in the 34th minute, Ayman Zein in the 52nd minute and Keryako in the 87th minute while Almaza’s goals came in the 3rd and 48th minute.
The match had a rush start with Almaza’s early goal & the early equalizer following only 2 minutes later from a powerful shot by Ramy El Maleh from inside the box. Almaza had several wasted scoring opportunities starting with a dangerous free kick just outside the box in the 16th minute, which Hossam Abdel Khalek – Wadi Degla’s substitute goal keeper – kept out of the goal brilliantly, another unexpected shot in the 35th & 72nd minute which Hossam Abdel Khalek touched out of play as well and ended with Almaza’s 2nd goal from a penalty kick in the 48th minute. Wadi Degla on the other hand had a couple of unfortunate attacks, the 1st in the 29th minute by Ramy El Maleh & the other by Barakat Mahmoud in the 80th minute that was saved by the opposition’s defense. The two goal cushion started off with a perfectly executed penalty kick in the 51st minute by Ayman Zein and then completed by a superb shot in the 87th minute by Keryako that found its way into the back of the net.
Wadi Degla still stands in 1st place in the Egyptian 3rd division league with 51 points on their account with a whole 11 point gap to the 2nd place contender El-Elameien.

Wadi Degla vs. Ceramica Cleopatra

In the previous 19th week games of the Egyptian 3rd division league, Wadi Degla’s 1st team encountered a tight 2-2 draw with Ceramica Cleopatra.
Wadi Degla kicked off rather over confident, leading to an early goal from a penalty kick for the opposition in the 3rd minute and another attempt right after which Hossam Abdel Khalik kept out superbly. Wadi Degla attempted several promising attacks in the 26th minute with a strong header by Ayman Zein that missed the goal by inches, another one by Bougy in the 29th minute that just went wide and was finally topped off with the equalizer in the 36th minute by Abo Bakr Zakareya who executed a flawless header that went into the back of the net. Minutes after, Mohamed Nano surprised the opposition with another goal in the 45th minute from a free kick that was dug deep into the net. Before the end of the half, Cleopatra was able to score the 2nd equalizer from a highly doubtful free kick which brought it all square. The 2nd half had a slower pace showing more defensive football on Wadi Degla’s side, ending the match in a 2-2 draw.

Wadi Degla's Sports Office Introduces New System

In an attempt to enhance Wadi Degla Sporting Club’s status as a recreational centre, enhance its image as a sports club and strengthen its position in the international sports scene, the sports office is incorporating a new supervisory and reporting system.

The new system aims at maintaining daily, monthly and quarterly reports as well as detailed performance evaluation, history analysis and player database which will be presented to the sports office by the various club trainers and coaches analysing players’ progression and teams’ development focusing on points of strengths and weaknesses as well as areas of growth. Coaches will be studying the players up-close, seeing how they perform and how they blend in with the rest of the team.

In order to involve the parents in the whole process they will be given questionnaires, allowing them to express their view on the trainers, training process & their children’s performance progress. In theory, this process will also help parents connect with their children and strengthen their bond.

In short, this new reporting system intends on summarizing how each sport as a whole is operating, developing and growing as well as individual growth, development & progression.
